If you were not at The Aftermath Exhibition this Saturday, the Lord and everyone else knows what you missed!

Saturday, I had the chance and the pleasure to attend the Aftermath Exhibition, a event organized by some of our very own in the big O, in order to celebrate the best month of the year : Black History Month.

Located in the basement of a church, the walls were decorated with photography and art by some of the most talented creatives in the Capital such as Oladimeg, Thereakerbens, Jemima Lor and Laurena Fineus. Each one of them exposed some of their most precious pieces on the wall which, to me, portrayed black beauty in its' true form.

The event was filled with some incredible performing artist such as Melissa Vales, Jeff Sanon, The Thrones Seekers and Keynes Woods, just to name a few. Their performances were electric and they each had a moment with the audience as we could feel the energy and the crowd was connecting with each of their stories.

Not only was the entertainment was present that night, the fashion was there with its' very own theme: "A Trip in Time". People were dressed in some bomb, original outfits inspired from their favorite time between the 1950's and the 2000's.

Although this event was celebratory to black history, I am happy to have seen such a diverse crowd. It was a great night and I hope that I will see Ottawa show out next year to be part of this moment!

I would like to also give a huge shout out to all the organizers and the performers who took their time to do this while remaining so passionate throughout event!
