Two of the greatest cities I've ever experienced are just a few hours away from each other. Ottawa and Toronto are both magnificent and have many pros and cons.

Toronto: Growing up on the outskirts of this big city was so convenient but also a bit frustrating. There are always so many exciting events going on downtown but knowing how crowded and pricy it is, it's hard to actually get myself to go. Toronto has many cute shopping areas and the biggest selection of places to eat but a lot of the places seem to be more for show and over priced. Although Toronto has given me many chances to see live shows I would have loved, due to the fact that it's such a popular location, it was hard to even get tickets. All in all, although I love Toronto, it's too much of a big city for me.

Ottawa: I just finished my first year living in Ottawa and I was completely impressed. Ottawa has a number of good places to go out to on a Friday night and most are cheap and almost never over-crowded. I find it has a wonderful vibe and the community of a small town, as well as the entertainment and heart of a big city. Ottawa buildings are beautiful, and so are Toronto's but Ottawa upholds a classy and humble appearance rather than the look of a modern hipster. Not to mention, Ottawa has great small venues to experience music in an intimate setting.
