If you haven’t stopped in at Blossom Vegetarian Café for a delicious home cooked meal you are seriously depriving your taste buds.

The café’s menu boasts Blossom bowls, burgers, wraps, salads, and sandwiches - quite impressive for their little kitchen. With a variety of affordable options, there is something for every picky eater. If someone in your life maintains a gluten free or vegan diet you have to bring them here. Almost every menu item can be altered to accommodate those dietary restrictions – they get actual choices too! Blossom also prides themselves on using local and organic ingredients whenever possible.

I considered the Sweet Potato-Cheddar-Cashew Burger (it comes with a side of jalapeno lime coleslaw and just reading that made my mouth water) but feeling a coconut theme I went with the Korma Bowl and a Mango Coconut Lime Shake, pictured here. My food was ready and served quickly even though the restaurant was packed with guests. The Korma bowl came full of tasty ingredients smothered in a flavorful curry sauce. The spiced cashews gave my meal a fun crunch, and the pickled onions gave it a lovely subtle tang. Fresh beets, zucchini, carrots, and spinach sprinkled throughout made for a colorful presentation.  My Mango Coconut Lime Shake was the perfect blend of coconut and mango. It wasn’t too sweet or too icy or too thick or too runny - basically the Goldilocks of shake consistencies.

The atmosphere in this café is very relaxed and welcoming. There are flowers on top of each table which I thought gave the place a cute and homey touch. For their small space they’re able to fit in several guests at one time. It can get a little cozy but it’s definitely much needed. Calling ahead might be a good idea because even at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday the place was at capacity with latecomers patiently waiting to be seated. They do offer take out as well though, so all is not lost if you aren’t able to grab a seat.
